Greetings to all our Brothers of the 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company Association!
It is with the greatest sadness that I share with you that my former Platoon Sergeant (1988-1990) and extraordinary Force Recon Staff NCO, Scott D. Nyman, has passed away due to complications from a heart attack. Scotty proudly, faithfully, and honorably served 2nd Force Recon Company for many, many years. He always had a smile, the correct answer, time to mentor others, and the willingness to assist all who were in need. He was a "Master" in ever sense of the word, and always led by example!
Many knew and dearly loved the "Old Cat" and his legend will live on forever in our hearts and in our stories!

Scotty's Funeral services will be at the Johnson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC on Wednesday, 12 August 2026 from 1400 - 1600 EDT. More information to follow.
Please join me in a moment of silence and reflection as we remember his contributions to his fellow Force Recon Marines and his strong faith to our Brotherhood!

Our 14th Rendezvous was an incredible event and I would like to thank the 105 Brothers and all of their Family members who attended and shared the wonderful week of festivities with us all! Thanks!
And now the even better ews! Major Jim Capers was notified by HQMC today (21 May 2026) that his Medal of Honor Ceremony will be on 18 June at 1600 at the White House. Details shall be shared as we get more information.
